Dear CSPS parents and carers,

It was a big relief to us to receive the news detailing a transition to a return to school over the next few weeks.

While very exciting, we must extend a reminder to everyone that this marathon to manage the Coronavirus COVID-19 is not over and we must all really maintain the vigilance that has been the practice so far.

We mustn’t let our State go backwards in this effort! Together we can ensure CSPS does its part to continue to fight COVID-19.

We have one further week until the first of our students begin to return and there will be further information sent in the coming week about the measures being put in place to manage this process as safely as possible.

Next week, our teachers of Years Prep to Two will be having their Professional Practice Day which is provided by the Department of Education each term to support teachers’ professional development to promote the delivery of high quality teaching and learning to your child.  This means on that day they will not be available for communication or to give student feedback. However, the students will continue to be provided with set tasks as part of their remote learning program on this day. There is a separate notice being sent with details for each year level.

Remember, there is a pupil-free day on Monday 25th May when there will be no remote learning program provided. TeamKids will offer care on this day.

Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 will return to school from Tuesday 26 May, from which time there will no longer be a remote learning program provided for these year levels except in exceptional circumstances. Please email the school email if there are any exceptional health issues to consider.

All other year levels will return to school from Tuesday 9 June.

For those students who cannot be supervised at home and vulnerable children, the existing model of on-site supervision will remain strictly in place during the two-week period from 26 May to 9 June, to enable the teachers of Years 3 to 6 to continue to provide a remote learning program for all students in those year levels.

We wish everyone a relaxing weekend and please remember to continue with good health and hygiene practices and social distancing as you enjoy the sunny weather.

Warm regards

Gayle, Bianca and CSPS staff
