Dear CSPS Families,

We once again find ourselves in difficult circumstances which we will all manage in the best way we can.

As you know, next week has been declared an additional week of school holidays for all children except some categories which do not apply to our school.

However, schools will provide on-site supervision only for students who are not able to be supervised at home and for whom no other arrangements can be made during regular school hours. That is, where neither parent is able to work from home including both parents of separated families. In such circumstances, children may attend school for supervision for the period of time the parent is at work. On-site supervision will also be provided for vulnerable students which includes children in out-of-home care, children deemed by Child Protection and/or Family Services to be at risk of harm and children identified by the school as vulnerable (including via referral from a family violence agency, homelessness or youth justice service or mental health or other health service and children with a disability).

As per the previous arrangements during the period of remote learning please complete the attached official Department of Education and Training application form to request supervision at school if your family falls into the above category. This should be accompanied by supporting documentation as previously. (See school email sent out for form.)

Out of School Hours Care will be available for all families, either for full day holiday program or before and after school hours. This will give parents some flexibility.

The world continues to go through extraordinarily challenging times and we all need to be very mindful of being caring and patient although I know many people’s limits are being truly tested right now. Please try to focus on just doing what we must do to get through this time and remember what is most important to you and your family as this may just help when your patience is being tested.

We will continue our endeavour to support our CSPS children, staff and families.

I hope you are all well, stay safe, healthy and… at home as far as possible. This time too will pass.

Warm regards to all,

Gayle
